Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. This far north coast town is located 772 kilometres north of Sydney and 165 kilometres south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia. The Byron Bay region is home to unique eclectic towns and villages (Bangalow, Nimbin), stunning hinterland (Murwillumbah, Mt Warning) and truly world-class beaches (Brunswick Heads, Lennox Head).

Over the past two decades, Byron Bay has become an escape for urban refugees, and especially those with artistic inclinations. Architects, designers, craftworkers and software engineers have set up shop, grafting their talents and energy on to this small, relaxed coastal village. Today Byron Bay is a chic seaside town with glorious beaches, a New Age tinge and loads of style.

From lush hinterland brimming with eclectic creative communities to some of the world's most acclaimed coastline, the Byron region is internationally renowned. And it's a little wonder.

The Byron Bay Bluesfest is one of the biggest, and most popular, events in Byron Bay. Held annually over Easter it attracts thousands of people to the region. The event is held on the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm between Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads, and is about a 10-minute drive from Byron Bay. There are numerous transport options available to get there from Byron Bay.

Further up the coast, you will find iconic coastal Australian towns and unique hinterland communities such as Nimbin, where people visit to experience and enjoy free and alternate lifestyles.

Tweed Heads is the sixth largest city in New South Wales. It is located on the Tweed River in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia, in Tweed Shire. Tweed Heads is located next to the border with Queensland, adjacent to the "Twin Town" of Coolangatta, a suburb of the Gold Coast. It is often referred to as a town where you can change time zones (even celebrate New Year twice within an hour) simply by crossing the street, due to its proximity to the Queensland border, and the fact that New South Wales observes daylight saving whereas Queensland does not.
